Fireworks on Fourth of July

This month, Americans celebrated the Fourth of July, otherwise known as Independence Day. This holiday marks the day that America officially adopted the Declaration of Independence.

Thomas Jefferson was the main writer behind the Declaration of Independence, a document that stated how Americans would be treated within the government moving forward. The document commemorated the breakthrough of American freedom and independence.

Over the years, the Fourth of July has become a way for Americans to come together and celebrate their American heritage, pride, and patriotism.

In the U.S, one can find a multitude of different events being held in celebration of the Fourth of July. Most larger cities hold huge gatherings for Independence Day and some even have events the entire week or weekend leading up to the holiday.

Although we are still in the process of recovering from the COVID-19 outbreak, states such as New York have resumed their normal festivities. New York City was able to hold their annual Macy’s Fireworks show this year, after canceling it the year prior due to COVID-19.

Fortunately, for those who would rather not attend large gatherings, there are ways to get into the spirit from home. Platforms such as Hulu, Fubo, Amazon Fire and Youtube TV, stream fireworks shows for folks to enjoy within the comfort of their safe place. Similarly, most large news networks live broadcast Fourth of July Fireworks shows.

In some cities, those who opt to watch local fireworks shows, are able to watch a live broadcast from their local news network. California’s largest fireworks show, Big Bay Boom, was aired locally from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m PT on four different major networks, including KTLA 5 in Los Angeles and Fox 40 in Sacramento.

Bloomberg TV broadcasted the Boston Pops July 4th Spectacular from Massachusetts.

Another great way to get in the Fourth of July spirit while still social distancing from home is to cook patriotic foods. There are tons of fun red, white, and blue foods to make that will be sure to remind you of Independence day!

For those who celebrated the Fourth of July, we hope that you had a great time! Feel free to share what you did with your friends or family in the comments below.
